Avoid

Avoid can be useful for a high-level party that does not want to run into as many monsters.

Avoid: "Encounter fewer monsters.": Avoid is a Mercury based Utility Psynergy that temporarily reduces the chance of encountering monsters in random battles both while in dungeons, and on the overworld, or world map. Avoid costs 5 PP to use, and has roughly the same effect as the one-use item: Sacred Feather. It is available to the following classes at level 6:

• Swordsman (Venus) (Class must be Defender or higher)
• Swordsman (Mars)
• Dragoon
• Pierrot
• Mariner class series

In the long run, using Avoid a lot will be detrimental to your party as it will rob you of valuable experience and may result in your characters being underpowered for when they encounter a boss. It can be useful early on in the game if you need to rush back to an inn because your Adepts have very little health, and it is also helpful in traversing areas with very weak enemies you do not wish to waste time to fight. Other than this, it is generally not recommended to use it in excess, and should not be used at all once the player acquires the Teleport Psynergy.
