A Bronze Shield is a Shield-class arm equipment available in both Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age. It is sold in armor vendors at Bilibin, Imil, and Kolima in Golden Sun and at Garoh in The Lost Age. This shield can be equipped on all warrior-style Adepts in both games, namely Isaac and Garet in the first game together with Felix and Piers in the second. It increases the equipped Adept's base Defense rating by 14 points. Its buy value is 500 coins and its sell value is 375 coins. Interestingly, it is one of two items whose graphic is changed in between the two games (the other being the Bronze Helm).

In Golden Sun, it can first be bought in Bilibin, and it is definitely a strong upgrade to the Wooden Shields or Padded Gloves Isaac and Garet would be wearing at that point, but it is the most expensive item at the armor vendor and the amounts of money you would have would most likely be quite low and perhaps insufficient to buy everything at the armor and weapon vendors without lots of battling for coins.

In Golden Sun: The Lost Age, the Bronze Shield might never be useful because it is sold only in Garoh after the town is "returned to normal" following your completion of the Air's Rock dungeon, and it is possible to find the far superior shield artifact Fujin Shield in that dungeon (the Fujin Shield is so strong it's better than even an Iron Shield). The Bronze Shield would only be useful if you missed the Fujin Shield and aren't willing to go back for it.
