The Burning Axe is an Axe found in Golden Sun. It is one of the prizes that can be won in the Lucky Medal Fountain in Tolbi. It can be bought for 7500 coins and sold for 5875 coins. Being an Axe, it can be equipped by Isaac, Felix, Garet, and Piers. It increases the wielder's attack by 84 and is rare for converting any normal attack launched by its wielder from being physical to being a Mars attack.
The Burning Axe's Unleash attack is Broil. Broil converts all damage to Mars damage and attacks with an additional 23 damage points; unlike the other Axe artifacts in Golden Sun, including the earlier Vulcan Axe, the Burning Axe may be faulted for not having an additional effect to its unleash. Visually, Broil resembles a normal strike with a red cloud spreading out upon impact.
Like the Assassin Blade, a weapon stronger than the Burning Axe isn't found until Lunpa (except for the other weapons from the spring). The Burning Axe is actually the weakest weapon available from the spring, but it is still stronger than any other weapons up to this point, except for the Mystery Blade which is just as powerful but requires players to veer off course and land on Crossbone Isle. Since all attacks with this weapon are Mars-based, it will always do enhanced damage to monsters with low Mars resistance, most notably Toadonpa and all the Mimics.
