This is equipment not registered as Artifacts in the games. This means they do not appear in the Artifacts menu at vendors if you sell them. Typical examples of common equipment are all equipment pieces you can normally buy in the Buy menu at a vendor, but there are also seemingly unique items like the Fur Coat and Psynergy Armor that count as "common".
