Flare, Flare Wall, and Flare Storm are a series of Mars attack Psynergy featured in both games. They are among the earliest Psynergy spells the player encounters and masters. It is available to the Guard Class series (Guard onwards), the Flame User Class series (Flame User onwards), and the Pirate Class Series (Pirate onwards). Hence, Jenna, Garet, Tyrell, and Eoleo can use this series of Psynergy.
Flare: “Attack with flaring flames.”: This costs 4 Psynergy Points, has a base power of 15, and has a range of three targets. A small patch of fire goes through the enemies from left to right. It is available at level 1.
Flare Wall: “Attack with searing flames.”: This costs 7 Psynergy Points, has a base power of 40, and has a range of three targets. Two small patches of fire stacked upon each other go through the enemies from left to right. It is available at level 6.
Flare Storm: “Attack with incinerating flames.”: This costs 12 Psynergy Points, has a base power of 80, and has a range of three targets. Three small patches of fire stacked upon each other go through the enemies from left to right. It is available at level 18.
At the beginning of the game, this is the Mars Adept's staple multi-target Psynergy, being available from level 1 in the game and having a low PP cost. In this regard, it is comparable in many ways to the Quake and Whirlwind Psynergy series. As with these other series, a more powerful, more expensive counterpart exists in the Fire Psynergy series or the Beam Psynergy series, for Garet and Jenna respectively. As Garet's natural class has a relatively low PP cap, while Jenna's has a relatively high one, the usefulness of this move may differ between games.
