Basic Description by Game Edit
The Silver Armlet increases the wearer's base Defense by 30 points. As a common item, it can be bought repeatedly from Vendors for 4000 coins each and sold for 3000 coins each.
In Golden Sun, Silver Armlets are sold by armor vendors in Lunpa, and can be equipped by Ivan and Mia. In Golden Sun: The Lost Age, Silver Armlets are sold in Champa and Contigo, and can be equipped by Jenna and Sheba. In Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, they are sold in Port Rago, Harun Village, Yamata City, and Tonfon, and can be equipped by Karis, Amiti, Rief, and Himi.
In Golden Sun, the Silver Armlet is first available in Lunpa after completing the optional Lunpa Fortress event. While it is an incremental defensive boost over the Heavy Armlets and Guardian Armlets Ivan and Mia might be equipped with, Silver Armlets may not be a necessary purchase in the grand scheme of things. This is due to the fact that the two best Armlet artifacts in the game, the Virtuous Armlet and the Spirit Armlet, are found in a chest early in Suhalla Desert and bought as an Artifact in Lalivero, respectively, and both these locations are entered shortly after leaving Lunpa to resume the main quest.
In Golden Sun: The Lost Age, Silver Armlets can first be bought in Champa, meaning they are available to buy as soon as you get the Lemurian Ship to sail the Great Eastern Sea with. While it won't replace the Bone Armlet one of your Adepts might have found in Gabomba Statue (it has the exact same defense rating) be wearing, it would be a good upgrade for an Adept equipped with an Armlet or below. However, the player can also acquire a superior (and cheaper) Clear Bracelet by having Sunshine the blacksmith in Yallam forge the Tear Stones you can collect during your exploration of the Great Eastern Sea.
In Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, Silver Armlets are technically available as soon as the player enters Morgal. However, as in The Lost Age, the player can acquire stronger pieces of hand armor, such as the Virtuous Armlet, the War Gloves and the Aura Gloves during their exploration of the region. Thus, the player may prefer to bypass the Silver Armlets.
When Himi joins the party in Yamata, she will have a Silver Armlet as part of her starting equipment. By this time, the player will have access to stronger forged equipment as well as Artifacts, both of which would outclass the Silver Armlet. Thus, the player should replace Himi's Silver Armlet as soon as possible.
