After that, Laurel warns them about the the alchemy machine and to not activate it (this set up the events of the Dark Dawn).

Aleph. The Wise One and an unwitting Isaac have thus robbed Alex of his dream for complete mastery of the building blocks of reality.

 The serpent bears a great resemblance to the Japanese Shinto serpent-dragon, [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamata_no_Orochi Yamata no Orochi], which was defeated by the god [[Susa]]no-o in order to free the princess [[Kushinada]]. The [[Cloud Brand]] found near its tail is the same as the legendary sword [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kusanagi Kusanagi] found in the Orochi's tail.
