A Tungsten Mace is a Mace-class weapon found in Golden Sun: The Lost Age. It is acquired by giving a Golem Core to Sunshine the Blacksmith in Yallam, where he will randomly forge it into either that or four other items. It is bought for 14700 coins while its resale value is 11025 coins.

The Tungsten Mace carries a non-elemental attack rating of 159. This mace has the Unleashed power Hammersphere, which activates at a rate of 35% (which is standard) and converts the attack into a Venus-elemental attack with 58 extra attack points added, and has a chance of ignoring half of the target's Defense rating during damage calculations. Hammersphere visually resembles a giant metallic sphere dropping out of the sky and onto the ground where the enemies are and bouncing off of them as the wielder does his or her physical attack.

The Tungsten Mace, as a Mace-class item, can be wielded by Isaac, Garet, Mia, Felix, Sheba, and Piers. The Tungsten Mace is one of several weapons acquirable in the Great Western Sea that is powerful for when it can first be attained, and it is the most powerful Mace-class weapon of all, but it is by no means ultimate because immensely more powerful weapons of other classes exist. This is one of three nearly-equal Venus-based weapons that can be forged from a Golem's Core, the other two being the Huge Sword and the Gaia's Axe. The Huge Sword is considered slightly inferior because it has slightly less attack power and its Unleashed power only cuts enemy defense down by 25%, while the Gaia's Axe is slightly stronger than both of the others and its Unleashed power can put enemies to sleep.

EtymologyEdit

Tungsten is a very cheap but dense metal (it has similar density to gold and uranium) that has various applications where dense metals are needed.
